There are a couple of models that are out, depending on what your preferences are. There are two that have research behind them - the Oral B and the Sonicare. The Oral B is shaped more like what dental professionals use, while the Sonicare is shaped like a toothbrush. Both have research behind them to support their findings of cleaning teeth much better than just manual brushing. However, both can be on the pricey side. If you aren't sure yet, you can always purchase a crest spin brush, and go from there. Those usually cost around $5-6 dollars to start

Personally, i prefer the Oral-B toothbrushes to the others, since the small head, i feel, can get in to clean your teeth better. Other ppl prefer the Sonicare because of its shape, and that they're used to cleaning with a toothbrush head.

I have the oral b triumph and LOVE it! I am a dental hygiene student and the company sent my peers and I each one for FREE!

I like it b/c it can reach behind my 2nd molars and every thirty seconds it pauses, so you know its time to move on to another quadrant.

My instructor (of 30+ years dental hygiene experience) likes the sonicare better because she claims she has a small mouth and the shape works better for her. She said they both do a good job.
