Regina/Mary?

This might be a stupid question, but I don't feel like looking it up.

In the hymn "Hail Holy Queen" they refer to Mary as Maria as well as Regina.

ex: "Hail Holy Queen enthroned above, oh Maria.

Hail Mother of Mercy and of love, oh Maria.

Triumph all ye cherubim. Sing with us ye seraphim.

Heaven and earth resound the hymn:

Ave, ave, ave Regina."

Obviously "Maria" is the same as "Mary".. but who the hell is Regina?

Regina is Latin for Queen.
Regina is latin for queen.

Mary and Maria are versions of Mary's true name with is Miriam in Hebrew.
Regina is Queen.
Regina is Latin for "queen" so that's one of her titles.
This refers to 'Mary I, The Queen of England' daughter of henry VIII and Catherine, born in 1516 and died in 1558, She ascended the throne of England in 1544. Because of a Reiging Queen, she was also called Regina.
Regina is Latin for Queen
