Do you think that Corporate Greed triumphs standards of living?

Does the almighty dollar really controll the minds of our congress and executive branch to the point that the standards of living in our nation take a back seat to their pandering to the special intrest of big buisness?

Do you think that Corporate Greed triumphs standards of living?

Look. It's government of the rich, by the rich, for the rich. Democrats are a little better, but do YOU know a poor politician? I don't know of any. Yes. $$$ rules the game. The BEST we can hope for is the Democrats to make it a little better. Short of a Ghandi/King type of revolution, that's the way it's going to be.

Do you think that Corporate Greed triumphs standards of living?antivirus downloads

Yes it does. Congress is bought and sold by special interest. And yes, our standard of living is going down the toilet with govt. trade policies, outsourcing and in-sourcing jobs and all the rest of what they call "global" economy.
Yes, absolutely! *sm*
I think this society's leaders have their priorities of what life should be like for lower and middle classes backwards. Seems like they give little care to anything but their own greed driven agenda-I see little respect and much disregard.
Modern American History answers the question without a trace of doubt

Yes
Corporate greed is a spin off from personal greed and its destroying just about everything everywhere.
It does when the republicans are in control of the government.

How many have trust issues? Are you working on them?

Getting too close still makes me nervous, but I find I'm beginning to open up again. It took me a long time to get here, but I won鈥檛 allow treachery to triumph! If I become secluded, a loner, or close my heart, evil wins鈥?and so do my abusers. That鈥檚 unacceptable to me.

So I work especially hard to heal the deep wounds. I must admit, I'm surprised how long it takes though. Are you triumphing over distrust or any other obstacle left by someone?

How many have trust issues? Are you working on them?abtuvurys 2005

I struggle with trust issues too. Once bitten, twice shy...

You are right, giving in to your fear would mean letting evil win. It's great that you recognize that - for me, it took a long time to come to that realization.

In life I have found there is a balance you've got to strike between taking chances and guarding your heart. You don't want to go out there and trust just anybody with super valuable things (like the deeper parts of your heart), but after you've seen how a person is and know they are a good person, you have to force yourself to take that risk and trust even if it's uncomfortable for you. Unfortunately, testing people out is the only way to learn to trust again.

For me, it's been an uphill battle at times to be as open to people as I want to be. But when I look at where I was a year ago and I look at myself today, I can honestly say that I'm a lot farther along now than I was then. And to me, that's success.

Democrats are good at acting busy without actually accomplishing anything?

IS it possible to humiliate yourself politically and score a political triumph at the same time? That would seem to violate the laws of physics. Yet that is the story of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's week.

In conventional terms, Reid stage-managed a disaster on Tuesday when he had the Senate stay up all night to debate the Iraq war in preparation for a vote on a bill to start withdrawing troops in three months.

What Reid did came to naught. He failed to get a vote on the bill he wanted. He acted peeved and peevish. He retaliated against those who'd opposed him by refusing to allow a vote on a bill to increase pay for military personnel serving in Iraq, which is politically stupid any way you look at it (not to mention morally questionable).

What's more, Reid handled the whole business like a rank amateur, not like a seasoned politico and parliamentarian, which is what the Senate majority leader is supposed to be.

First he called the all-nighter a "stunt" - not exactly the language you want to use when you're claiming to be focusing on the most important issue of our time.

Second, there were incongruous notes of good cheer and sophomoric excitement amid the supposedly profound sorrow and anger attending the war debate - boxes of pizza filled with yummy cheesy goodness; senators giddily toting their toothbrushes to work; cots delivered so senators could rest in a "nap room."

Reid acted simultaneously as though the all-night talkathon was a college rush party and an incredible hardship on those poor, poor senators.

Songs NEEDED!!?

Does anyone know any songs that have the words records or CDs in it?

I am doing a project on triumph and tragedy. My Triumph is the record (it was an amazing discovery/ invention for the music industry) and my tragedy is the CD, the tragedy is not to the average person, but to the record companies (records are not popular anymore). I am going to use the song as my title, so please i really need a catchy title!!

Oh, say, does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen, thro' the mists of the deep,

Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,

What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,

As it fitfully blows half conceals, half discloses?

Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,

In full glory reflected, now shines in the stream;

'Tis the Star-Spangled Banner, Oh long may it wave

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore

That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion

A home and a country should leave us no more?

Their blood has washed out their foul footstep's pollution.

No refuge could save the hireling and slave

From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,

And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

A MESSAGE FROM AN APPALLED OBSERVER:

Today I went to visit the new World War

II Memorial in Washington, DC!

I got an unexpected history lesson. Because I'm a baby boomer, I was one of the youngest in the crowd. Most were the age of my parents, Veterans of "the greatest war," with their families. It was a beautiful day,

and people were smiling and happy to be there. Hundreds of us milled around the memorial, reading the inspiring words of Eisenhower and Truman that are engraved there.

On the Pacific side of the memorial, a group of us gathered to read the words President Roosevelt used to announce the attack on Pearl Harbor:

Yesterday, December 7,

1941-- a date which will live in infamy--the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked.

One elderly woman read the words aloud:

With confidence in our armed forces, with the abounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph.

But as she read, she was suddenly turned angry. "Wait a minute," she said, "they left out the end of the quote. They left out the most important part. Roosevelt ended

the message with "so help us God.'"

Her husband said, "You are probablyright. We're not supposed to say

things like that now."

What did Abraham do that earn him the Promise?

i believe theres no Book before Abraham. But God loves Abraham so much! What did Abraham do that earn him the Promise?Books especially Holy Books deceived mankind. For centuries, Holy Books conquered everyone especially those aspiring to be holy (never mind the unholy). Too many Holy Books, too many good ones.Because of this, mankind earn a never-ending fights, all recorded in Holy Bible and Holy Koran! When good fights the evil, these Holy Books say the good will triumph. There's always a sure promise of triumph---which fuels good men to fight! When two good men fights, who will win?who will laugh?

Be like Abraham!

What did Abraham do that earn him the Promise?anti virus

Nothing.

Although Abraham was a righteous and upright man who worshiped the one true God, he did not earn the "Promise" of Salvation for all humanity.

Salvation is a gift from God and is not earned.

God used the faithful Abraham as one step in the history of Salvation.

With love in Christ.

What did Abraham do that earn him the Promise?auto protect

Abraham, was the first to heed "the word of God"

Abraham obeyed God the Father, and would not kill as the serpent wanted him to. It was the serpent who told Abraham to get out of his country and that he (the devil) would show him a land flowing with milk and honey. But unlike Moses, Abraham, live in peace with his brothers.

What did you think of the movie, "Paradise Road?"?

When I watched this movie, I felt so heart broken on how they treated the women who were captured during World War II.

In a time of war, so extraordinary group of women turned a song of hope into a symphony of triumph. From the director of "Driving Miss Daisy" comes a true story of courage, triumph, friendship and strength starring Glenn Close (DANGEROUS LIAISONS"), Oscar winner Frances McDormand (1996 Best Actress, "FARGO") and Emmy Award Julianna Marguiles (TVs "ER"). This compelling drama reveals heroic actions of a group of women held prisoner by the Japanese during World War II. These diverse women from different countries, speaking different languages, unite to form a vocal orchestra--creating a life affirming symphony of human voices.

This movie was so dramatic and I it hurted me to watch the Japanese soldiers torchered these women.

What are your thoughts when viewing this movie and why?

In Death do you think Zarqawi is now more powerful?

Zarqawi now more powerfull!

As a resistance leader he was cunning and fearsome, as a martyr he will now be greater and more powerfull than he was before.

I can't believe anybody thinks his death will end the fight for freedom in Iraq. New leaders will rise and take his place. Look at Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh died long beofre the US lost that war. Hamas lost two leaders in less than a month and yet won the elections in Palestine.

One day the US may even kill Bin Laden. Yes, there will be much American celebration then, but would the fighting end?

Be real, this is a momentary set back, if that. The resistance in Iraq is actually gaining strength and will triumph there like other resistance movements triumphed in Lebanon, Vietnam, Somailia, etc.

In Death do you think Zarqawi is now more powerful?antivirus downloads

Yes. Obviously. He's a martyr. And, surprise, there's another terrorist that's been waiting for this exact moment so that he can jump to the front of the line and say, "Zarqawi bit the dust, let's go fight and die for him."

And if/when that poor bastard gets killed, then he'll be a martyr, too. And those who didn't like Zarqawi but love this new guy will be more inclined to strap a bomb to their chest. The list goes on.

Cf. Vietnam, Korea, etc....

Also, read in the last edition of the academic journal "Foreign Affairs" about the British invasion/explusion from Iraq.

Actually... i don't celebrate Christmas. But my stepfamily does. So this one Christmas when i was in Florida, i got to celebrate it with them. And it was nice because it was the first time i decorated a tree. The first time i put presents underneath the tree. The first time i woke up excited that it was Christmas morning. It was special. And i always relate Clinique - Happy to that memory because it was the first present i opened as well as my favorite.

I haven't celebrated Christmas since but i can still hear the people laughing and talking, still smell the Turker, still feel my eyes burning from the onions i had to cut, still taste the pies... it's all there. Buried. But it's a beautiful memory.

Yes my most treasured possession that I wanted Father Christmas to bring me was a HUGE teddy that was being raffled at a local hall. I was only little and didn't realise you couldn't just buy it. Waking Christmas morning and finding it in my room was amazing, I didn't even wanna look at any other presents. My mam still can't believe she won it. Have just realised.... Where the heck did they hide it until Christmas ?!?! Must remember to ask my mam next time we talk
Best present i had was my Sinclair Spectrum 48k home computer, it must of cost the earth for my parents to buy as they didnt have too much money, still have fond memories of that christmas and each and everyone after that.

Has the meaning of the word Liberal (with a capital "L") changed to a completely reverse c

I am speaking within the context of the past 500 yrs, which I consider the present era (within the purview of Shakespeare, where he seems to delimit the western ascendant consciousness). The capitalist worldview of Adam Smith was in fact considered "Liberal," or promoting the freedom of the individual to grow and expand his knowledge of the world and the wideness of his activity in the world. Now (particularly since 1960), Liberal has come to mean Group, Mass, Race expansion and freedom of choice and activity. As if individual progress is almost meaningless by itself rather than a triumph in which others can share mentally. As if an individual like Christ, or George Washington, or the present Secy. of State, is not a triumph for ALL individuals.

Has the meaning of the word Liberal (with a capital "L") changed to a completely reverse connotation?antivirus scan

In Australian Politics, yes.

Has the meaning of the word Liberal (with a capital "L") changed to a completely reverse connotation?computer security

Well to start with Liberal with a capital L means a member of the Liberal Party, and we don't have one here in the US. Party names can be deceiving anyway.

Also, 'liberal' means different things in different contexts. I was brought up in a 'liberal' religious tradition, meaning only that there were no hard and fast doctrines, that Biblical ideas could be interpreted several different ways, and we discussed many alternative views. Even in politics, a liberal economic policy might not have anything in common with a liberal social policy or a liberal foreign policy or monetary policy.

What is this statement for you means??

"Youth must triumph...now, Love must triumph...now. Afterward...it will be life."

What is this statement for you means??antivirus software

I think it means that it is imperative that youth and love triumph now (youth is the next generation so if they triumph, in a positive sense --- i.e. learn from the mistakes of generations past --- everyone wins + No one would win in a world where hate triumphed, so we need love to triumph) and after they both triumph, life will triumph... life will win because it is now a better place/the world has restarted (in a sense that a new generation has taken over and changed the world for the better.)

//edit//

I think the person below me is more on key... but I can seen how this quote can be understood both ways.

What is this statement for you means??computer virus

It means that you have to take advantage of being young and take advantage of youthful romantic love. Be young and in love and enjoy every second of it. Before long you grow up and life comes responsibilities, such as job and bills.
It just means that if youth and love triumph (peak) now that basically everything would be better, which really isn't true. But whatev.

What is the best electric tooth brush out there ?

is the Oral-B Professional Care Triumph Toothbrush any good ?

http://www.target.com/Oral-B-Professiona...

What is the best electric tooth brush out there ?antivirus

There are a couple of models that are out, depending on what your preferences are. There are two that have research behind them - the Oral B and the Sonicare. The Oral B is shaped more like what dental professionals use, while the Sonicare is shaped like a toothbrush. Both have research behind them to support their findings of cleaning teeth much better than just manual brushing. However, both can be on the pricey side. If you aren't sure yet, you can always purchase a crest spin brush, and go from there. Those usually cost around $5-6 dollars to start

Personally, i prefer the Oral-B toothbrushes to the others, since the small head, i feel, can get in to clean your teeth better. Other ppl prefer the Sonicare because of its shape, and that they're used to cleaning with a toothbrush head.

Hope that helps

What is the best electric tooth brush out there ?computer

I have the oral b triumph and LOVE it! I am a dental hygiene student and the company sent my peers and I each one for FREE!

I like it b/c it can reach behind my 2nd molars and every thirty seconds it pauses, so you know its time to move on to another quadrant.

My instructor (of 30+ years dental hygiene experience) likes the sonicare better because she claims she has a small mouth and the shape works better for her. She said they both do a good job.

Harry Potter, How do you want it to end?

I'm full of mixed feelings over how i want to see it end...

on one hand, i want to see Harry triumph over Voldemort and save the day, but on the other hand,( PLZ PLZ PLZ don't trash me for this, it's just an idea that i want to put out...) I kinda want to see the bad-guy to win so the story ends on a fabulous twist... it's become so over done, the whole good triumphs over evil thing, it would be refreshing for the bad guy to win for once... OR, what if Harry gets convinced to go over to the darkside to either take Voldemort's place or rule beside him, i mean think about it, he's become so angry and frusturated lately that i'm seeing a pattern between young master Potter and young master Riddle... you have to admit, it would be an interesting twist...

what do you think should happen?

Harry Potter, How do you want it to end?ariel

I'm a big fan of fan fiction, and I've read all kinds of different endings for the book series. I want Snape to be on the side of good. I love Snape, and I would love him even if he were evil, but I want him to be good so that Harry is wrong about him. I want Draco to do something heroic in the final battle. People tend to think of him as shallow and they need to be proved wrong. I want Neville to kill of Voldie (never going to happen). I want one of the golden trio to die off. I don't really care who... I want Percy to get a serious *** whooping. I'd like to see Bellatrix and Lucius get kissed (by dementors). Harry....well...he's been pretty miserable all his life, and I either want him to win...or to defect to the dark side. However, he is highly unlikely to defect. There is no WAY she could fit a believable 'Harry changes sides' plot into that one book. These are some of the things I'd like to see happen.

Do you think these 17 reasons are why a man wont commit ?

1/ Getting married is very much like going to a continental restaurant with friends. You order what you want, then when you see what the other fellow has, you wish you had ordered that.

2/ At the cocktail party, one woman said to another, "Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?" The other replied, "Yes I am, I married the wrong man."

3/ Man is incomplete until he is married. Then he is really finished.

4/ Marriage is an institution in which a man loses his bachelor's degree and the woman gets her master's.

5/ A little boy asked his father, "Daddy, how much does it cost to get married?" And the father replied, "I don't know, son, I'm still paying for it."

6/ Young Son: Is it true, Dad, I heard that in some parts of Africa a man doesn't know his wife until he marries her? Dad: That happens in most countries, son.

7/ Then there was a man who said, "I never knew what real happiness was until I got married; and then it was too late.

8/ When a newly married man looks happy, we know why. But when a ten-year married man looks happy - we wonder why.

9/ Married life is very frustrating. In the first year of marriage, the man speaks and the woman listens. In the second year, the woman speaks and the man listens. In the third year, they both speak and the neighbors listen.

10/ After a quarrel, a wife said to her husband, "You know, I was a fool when I married you." And the husband replied, "Yes, dear, but I was in love and didn't notice it."

My girlfriends Pomeranian Small cough?

We have a 10 week old Pom who just recently got back from a vet visit. The Pom had an I.V. but into him in order to raise his blood suger. Since the pet's return from the visit, it has been coughing, or hacking on occassion (Nothing drastic, just a couple times an hour). And though it is more rare, it does vomit a -very- little bit, but for the most part, the hacking is fairly dry.

I was wondering if this could be caused by the IV (like the sneezing), which has only been out of him for 2 days, or if I should look into something else. He is fairly small (1.5lbs), so I am a bit worried. Also, could a change in food cause this? He started of on 'Triumph', and then the Vet gave us a different soft food to eat. Now that that is gone, we had to revert back to the 'Triumph'.. Could this change effect the dog?

-He is still very hyper, excited, his sugar level has been fine. It does not alter his personality in any way at all. I don't think it is kennel cough since it isn't constant. Thanks!

My girlfriends Pomeranian Small cough?computer repair

Pomeranians do cough...its common. Even the kennel cough isn't always constant. What I would do is wait the weekend....or a few days in general and see how the pom is feeling. If the coughing continues or you notice any other changes (such as possible fever, etc) call the vet right away.

O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,

Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,

What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,

As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?

Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,

In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:

'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore

That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,

A home and a country should leave us no more?

Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.

No refuge could save the hireling and slave

From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:

And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Car insurance for a new driver + sports car?

Well, my dad owns a 1959 TR-3 Triumph, and also a 1981 Delorean. I will be turning 16 soon, and I plan on purchasing car insurance so I can drive a 2006 Hyundai Sonata to school and around town. The problem is..

I want to be able to occasionally drive my dad's Triumph TR-3 around town, to school, on nice days, etc. Maybe only on weekends, that kind of thing.

The problem is, I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on car insurance for a car I won't be driving very often. I read that there is a "cents-per-mile" program which is essentially a prepaid insurance card and you buy insurance for blocks of miles and it keeps track on a special odometer. Can someone please shed some light on that subject? I live in Oklahoma if that's of any importance.

Car insurance for a new driver + sports car?computer

First of all, ask your dad to add you on his auto policy with your car, listing you as the primary driver of your Sonata. As long as you are on the same policy as your dad where he has the Triumph, and you are not excluded from driving it, then you should be covered. Depending on the replacement value of the car, depends on which car you want to be listed as the primary driver of. To lower your insurance costs, I would suggest that you do well in school and bring the agent a copy of your transcripts with your grades. Depending on your state and company, the insurance agent may have some additional advice as to how to lower your costs. If the car is on a special policy or through another company, then you won't be covered, and aren't going to be able to drive it. Sorry =(. I have never heard of such a program.

I was so upset that Cena/HBK didn't get beatdown last night, weren't you???

These two guys were put in a freakin' gauntlet handicap match facing 3 TAG TEAMS IN ONE NIGHT ALL TRYING TO TAKE THEIR TITLES. And against all odds, once again they must triumph.

It's bad enough that they didn't get their as$es kicked last Monday, and now I see them triumph yet again?

I can't wait 'till some tag team finally kicks their butts and finally takes their titles because I am sick of seeing these "babyfaces" constantly come out on top. I am so sick of it. The day when Rated RKO beats them, takes their titles, and gets them a bloody beatdown is the day I'll celebrate.

I was so upset that Cena/HBK didn't get beatdown last night, weren't you???download

Of course! You need to see my RAW is Crap question.

There will be no build for the World title match at Mania, which is stupid. WWE Creative is so damn stupid. Three tag teams got buried and made to look like s**t last night. Two of those teams are actually great! (WGTT and MNM)

Stop catering to these babyface fans and take the belts off Cena and HBK, for the love of God!

I was so upset that Cena/HBK didn't get beatdown last night, weren't you???hijackthis

I agree. They go through impossible odds and beat 3 other tag teams to defend their titles. What BS! They should have lost to MNM because they are the most skilled out of the tag-teams they versed. At least have them lose the titles before WresleMania!
I agree. I think it is ridiculous that "faces" are just unbeatable nowadays. They beat 3 tag teams easily last night and two of the teams were former tag champs in Haas and Benjamin and MNM. It is pathetic writing on the WWE's behalf and I hope they wake up soon because they are starting to lose the real fans. Only kids like this stuff now.
well of course your going to see them triumph but its only going to be to wrestlemania watch after wrestlemania they willl get beat down
No not me they are a great tag team together
I AINT GOING TO LIE .

What is your perception towards reversal of fortunes of humanity?

We are in a changing world of reality. We happen to be rejoiced whenever we experience the positive sides of reality. Never we might have expected what contentment it brings to everyone of us when we face sudden triumph, as winning in a lottery, contests, and other prized stakes - all but WINNING, or simply just receiving blessings from Him, that can really CHANGE our lives in a very meaningful way. But how do we become aware of the other side of reality? When we happen to experience sudden failures, as losing money, breaking up with girlfriends/boyfriends, being victims of calamities, that can AFFECT also our lives to the point we are to lose hope. How positive you are when you are on the negative side of reality? How eager you are when you know triumph is ahead of you, but least expect things to happen. Do you believe in "Expect the Unexpected" saying?Citing experiences are highly appreciated and very helpful. Thank you very much. Good day to all of you...

What is your perception towards reversal of fortunes of humanity?downloads

The universe (or god) never throws at us what we can not handle.

It is us and us alone that convinces ourselves that we cannot go on and that everything is terrible.

We need to change our perceptions.

When something bad happens to me, i try to focus on all the positive that can come out of it, and positive things generally start to happen.

In car makes, what categories do you think there should be?

I drive a Triumph TR6. There is no category for triumph, or even a british leyland category. I am sick + tired of this, as are many other drivers of makes like Cadillac , Packard, AMC,Jaguar + and all those other makes that did'nt get a category, especially since they gave categories to mahindra+ maruti, tata, skoda and all those stupid cars that no one cares about! They even have categories for cars they dont even make any more like fiat or alfa romeo. What can we do to get even?

In car makes, what categories do you think there should be?ducati

well there are other cars not listed

if more peopple bought them you would have your own board too

In car makes, what categories do you think there should be?hp

Skoda is not a stupid car, it's good, and if u think of it stupid then it's your problem
you are right, some are dumb and some are missing, like the Saturn.

I drive a Sunbeam and Edsel and neither have categories. Something like sportscars and collector cars would be nice.

Marriage Humor ****

How do most men define marriage?

A very expensive way to get your laundry done free.

The most effective way to remember your wife's birthday is to forget it once.

Getting married is very much like going to a restaurant with friends. You order what you want, then when you see what the other fellow has, you wish you had ordered that.

At the cocktail party, one woman said to another, "Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?" The other replied, "Yes, I am, I married the wrong man."

Man is incomplete until he is married. Then he is finished.

A little boy asked his father, "Daddy, how much does it cost to get married?" And the father replied, "I don't know son, I'm still paying."

Young Son: Is it true, Dad, I heard that in some parts of Africa a man doesn't know his wife until he marries her? Dad: That happens in every country, son.

Then there was a man who said, "I never knew what real happiness was until I got married; and then it was too late."

After a quarrel, a wife said to her husband, "You know, I was a fool when I married you." The husband replied, "Yes, dear, but I was in love and didn't notice."

A man inserted an 'ad' in the classifieds: "Wife wanted". Next day he received a hundred letters. They all said the same thing: "You can have mine."

Were the hippies involved in some major movement?

I am doing a history paper and I want to write about hippies. The theme of the paper is 'Triumph and Tragedy'. And I want to talk about what they did/their movement and how that was both a triumph and tragedy. So..was there anything major they were involved with?

Were the hippies involved in some major movement?free adware remover

The beetnicks wanted to be the opposite of their parents, thus making words like 'cool' because their mothers would be like 'Thats some hot jazz'. This all happened around the 1950's.

Were the hippies involved in some major movement?internet security 2006

Hippies were a 1960's extension of the Beat Generation of the 50's. The Hippies (or Flower Children as the were sometimes called) were often college educated young people who were experimenting with new cultural experiences, such as pacifism (the Peace Movement), openness in laws and politics, relaxed views on love and sex, and experimentation with different religions, music and drugs. Their existence was fueled with events like the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights Movement.
Hippies, huh? Anti-war protests that eventually led to the death of the students at Kent State University. Drugs, sex, immorality, Woodstock, heavy metal music. Sit ins and demonstrations. Not much good came from hippies. They were a wasted generation.
The hippies were involved in promoting peace, free love, and self-fulfillment. These were good desires, but they went about it the wrong way. For peace, they staged sit-ins against war, cruelty to animals, and whatever else they were against, and would sit in the way of pedestrians or traffic (sometimes tying themselves together) to bring attention to the cause. They only succeeded in being dragged away and jailed (how peaceful is that?) For free love, rather than providing service or assistance to humankind, they indulged in sex with anyone interested ("making love" instead of acting lovingly). Therefore, few had solid relationships and venereal diseases increased. For self-fulfillment, rather than seeking education or wisdom, they listened to music, burned incense, hung beads everywhere, smoked pot and experimented with drugs to have better ideas, dreams, and visions. Many became drug addicts, some of which ended up living on streets or in parks. I lived in the Oakland/San Francisco area during that time and people saw the hippies as a nuisance rather than a group promoting good values and morals for the USA.
The hippies were an unorganized group. They didn't have any cohesive agenda at all. I would say that, as a generalization and on the whole, most hippies were interested in: (1) getting the government to pull out of Vietnam (2) experimenting with drugs (3) experimenting with sexual freedoms (4) promoting women's rights (5) choosing and promoting a lifestyle in direct opposition to the materialism of the 50's. That was my viewpoint at the time anyway...

Muslims only: In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful?

Remain attached to the Quran. Nobody should surpass you in being intent on it, or more sincere in implementing it for God said in the Quran:

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful

You are the best people raised for the good of mankind; you enjoin good and forbid evil and believe in Allah.

And hold fast, all together, to the rope of Allah and be not divided; and remember the favour of Allah which He bestowed upon you when you were enemies and He united your hearts in love, so that by His grace you became as brothers; and you were on the brink of a pit of fire and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah explain to you His commandments that you may be guided.

Surely, God has purchased of the believers their persons and their property in return for the heavenly Garden they shall have; they fight in the cause of God, and they slay and are slain - an unfailing promise that He has made binding on Himself in the Torah, and the Gospel, and the Qur'an. And who is more faithful to his promise than God? Rejoice, then, in your bargain which you have made with Him; and that is the mighty triumph.

Those, who love that indecency should spread among the believers, will have a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter. And Allah knows and you know not.

....they will spare no pains to ruin you. They love to see you in trouble. Hatred has already shown itself through the utterances of their mouths and what their breasts hide is greater still. We have made clear to you Our commandments, if you will only use your understanding.

I'm sick of beating around the bush. Advice, please?

I have liked this girl for two long years. But, this infatuation has been debilitating and emotionally stressful.

She is the type of girl who's rather dense in the matter of romance.

So... I'm thinking about just dropping a bombshell on her-just tell her everything about my feelings. I really don't care at this point whether I triumph or fail. (I'm used to failure)

"Hey, listen. I like you. I have, for a long, long while. Actually, if I didn't like you so much I probably would never have bothered trying so darn hard to get friendly with you. Fact of the matter is: I'm sick of beating around the bush. So here I am, in triumph or failure, to ask you one simple question: will you be my girlfriend? I know I鈥檓 not exactly prince charming, but I鈥檓 here, ready and willing to be there for you, always. And I鈥檒l do my darnedest to become the man you deserve. And if not, then no harm done. I will still always love you as a friend, and nothing more if you so wish it."

Why do Democrat Tactics Work?

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Ron in Houston, thanks for calling. You're next on the EIB Network, sir. Hello.

CALLER: Mega dittos, mighty one. The reason I called, this has been a frustration for about the last three months right now. How long is everybody going to forget how many times the Democrats have tried to give away everything this country's done? I'm to the point now, I'll put up the money to basically put most of the Democratic Party on Ritalin because they're becoming an out-of-control reality program. In fact, they may be the basis for the original reality programs out there. Can you explain to me how they keep getting away with the junk they're putting out there and they do it over and over and over again. I watched it during Reagan, and when the huge threat of the Soviet Union was out there. The Soviet Union was kind of a rusty bucket ready to fall over, but until the day it happened, Reagan was looked at as a fool. I'm not particularly a big fan of George Bush, but George Bush can get the job done. Let him be president. I'm sorry. I want to just scream right now.

RUSH: Wait. If I understood everything you're saying, and your call is a little distorted, you're wondering how in the world people keep falling for the same Democrat trick?

CALLER: It's the same thing over and over and over again. I'm an ex-Navy officer. I spent a lot of time out on US aircraft carriers. I spent a lot of time watching situations and I'm sitting there watching what's going on and I'm watching what the media is spitting back out in the States, and there's no correlation.

Exotic Eastern Caribbean cruise w/ carnival?

We are planning to go on a cruise with carnival this upcoming june. The cruise goes to: Half Moon Cay (Bahammas), St.Thomas (US Virgin Islands), San Juan (Puerto Rico), Grand Turks (Turks and Caicos). The name of the cruise is Triumph. Basically my question is have any of you been on a cruise to these places? Are they any good? Or has any one been in the cruise Triumph? Is it good? I am asking all these questions because it would be my first time cruising. I will go with my family. Brother 17, Sister 15, Mom 41, Dad 50

Excursions are fun!!!

In Half Moon I would suggest the the glass bottom boat ride, Explore the undersea world without getting wet, as you cruise out to sea aboard a state of the art glass bottom boat.

St Thomas, I did The Jeep and Beach Safari

On this excursion you will:

Meet your guide at the pier and go to your awaiting Jeep.

Head off -- four guests per Jeep -- in search of beaches and breathtaking views of the island.

See virtually the entire island, from the sands of the beaches to the lush green mountaintops.

Listen and learn as your guide points out the sights, fruits, flowers, and his/her knowledge of the island's history and culture.

Stop at a pottery shop and visit two of the best beaches on the island.

that not everybody can be complete

you must accept your lonely misfortune

I'm sure it is for the people since you probably didn't intend to just read it to your dog.It is avant garde stuff. That's a high compliment, coming from me. Most people will not care for the honesty in it. I respect how deep you had to reach for it. I do think you should change "piece of mind" to "peace of mind." Just a typo. No biggie.

Is this poem for the people?ktm

Seems like three pretty straightforward (and really long) sentences to me. Aside from the formatting, what makes this a poem and not a piece of prose?
As long as they are not 'very little people'...yes.

But remember these Absolutes:

Love is NOT equal to Pounding Flesh

Triumph is NOT disappointing in the end

and

Lonliness is NOT misfortune if we learn to look Above beyond the imperial 'us' (outside ourselves)

Motorcycle and sidecar?

Hello from the UK!

I am now ready to start thinking about taking my Direct Access. I have fallen in love with the Triumph Bonneville after spending a couple of weeks with a friend who let me ride his around his private land and this is the bike I am aiming for- any opinions welcome!

I would like to fit a sidecar and have a few questions (UK specific answers would be useful as far as laws are concerned but feel free to answer regardless of your nationality!).

Is a Bonneville a suitable bike for this? Do Triumph make sidecars for their bikes, if not, where can I look and how do I make sure the model is suitable for a Bonneville? How much, roughly, does one cost to buy and get fitted?

How does a sidecar effect the bike in terms of performance, handling and fuel economy?

Is it simple to unhitch the car and just use the bike?

Lastly, do you have to take a special test to have a sidecar in the UK and how does it affect insurance? I'm 22.

Thanks!

Well may I say that you are a man of Taste, I had one of the first Bonnys made %26 loved it tho it couldn't match my Vincent Black Knight. My bonny was married to a Stieb open Sidecar %26 in it's day was a fantastic combination. I'm not sure these days but I think it still qualifies as a 3 wheeler so you can drive it with L plates, GO FOR IT, you'll love it.If you try to ride it Solo though (Just the bike) you have to have a full motorbike licence.

What is The Vatican policy against the Orthodox Church?

GIANTS ACT like giants, hence their undertakings are on a gigantic scale. Years are reckoned by decades, decades by centuries. Geographical areas are made to embrace nations or even continents, while the histories of institutions and of races are seen in perspectives not easily comprehended. Because of this, their actions, being in harmony with their extraordinary magnitude, will escape the notice of individuals unable to size up the vast historical panoramas which, although clearly scrutinizable by retinas of gigantic forms, yet are partly blurred and often wholly invisible to others.

The Catholic Church, the greatest surviving giant in the world, is a colossus with no peer in antiquity, experience and above all, in her determination to dominate the human race. To reach such a goal, she will suffer no rivals, tolerate no competitors, put up with no enemies.

Giants who, like her, were found roaming in the deep valley of history, she fought with bloody claws and a ruthlessness to shame the Attillas, the Genghis Khans and all the other scourgers of civilization. Many she led to their destruction; others she subjugated for good; some were annihilated, but some resisted and escaped all her guiles. More than one survived, and even fought relentless battles that echoed with sanguinary echoes in the corridors of the centuries and that are still being fought as ferociously as in olden times, now, in the very midst of the twentieth century.

Vatican diplomacy is the oldest diplomacy in the world. Most of those it fought were either shrunk to nothing by time or blotted out by history, and to modern ears all its multifarious intrigues would sound as hollow and as unreal as they have become strangely unrelated to the ever-bewildering events of our day.

I'm getting back into riding after 5 yrs. I want retro looks, with performance and comfort. Wha

The bikes I have been looking at are (listed in the order im leaning right now) Ducati GT1000 or Triumph America. While not so retro looking I am also considering the Victory Hammer, Triumph Rocket 3 and the Harley Davidson V-Rod.

I have extensive experience on dirt bikes having had my first one at the age of 6. I also have about 10 years of experience on the roads but riding nothing bigger then a 600 cruiser there. I havent ridden anything in 5 years and I'm nervous about some of the larger engines later on my list.

I will use the bike mostly around town but once every couple of weeks I will be hitting the highway for a couple of hours.

I would like some experienced riders comments on what they think would be best for my needs. I'm open to new suggestions but I have no interest in the Japenese bikes at all.

I'm getting back into riding after 5 yrs. I want retro looks, with performance and comfort. What should i buy?hijackthis

I ride a 2006 Harley Electra-Glide, and also have a 2002 Honda 750 ACE (a cruiser). I got back into riding about 4 years ago, after a 30-year or so layoff. I bought the Honda, took the MSF Basic Rider's Course, and rode it about 203 years before buying the H-D last Valentine's Day. First, let me recommend that you take an MSF course before you get back on a bike - it will tune up your riding abilities and help you a lot in adjusting to "life on the street" on a bike after your lay-off from riding. Next, I would have to say that you are looking at a pretty big jump from riding a 600cc cruiser five years and more ago to a Ducati, Triumph America or V-Rod. Frankly, the only one of those you should probably consider at this stage of the game would be the Triumph America. The Triumph Rocket, which is aptly named, should be off your list completely, at least until you get a year or two's current experience on a relatively big-bore bike - that thing could really eat your lunch. Exciting, extreme performance, and far too much temptation to twist that right wrist - it can get upwards of 140 MPH in a heartbeat. It is quite capable of leaving most riders mentally well behind it, but your body will still be there at the crash scene. The Ducati and V-Rod are awfully quick, too. The Triumph America is still pretty quick, but is probably in a more manageable range at your current level of proficiency. I'd probably recommend it as your best choice, from those you are considering, at this point.

Short jokes part 3?

A man, upon his engagement, went to his father and said," Dad! I've found a woman just like mother"

His father replied, "So what do you want? sympathy?"

Eighty percent of married men cheat in America. The rest cheat in Europe.

Marriage is the triumph of imagination over intelligence.

Second marriage is the triumph of hope over experience.

If you want your spouse to listen and pay strict attention to every word you say, talk in your sleep.

It's not true that married men live longer than single men. It only seems longer.

Losing a wife can be very hard. In my case, it was almost impossible.

A man was complaining to a friend: "I had it all - money, a beautiful house, a big car, the love of a beautiful woman - and then, BAM!, it was all gone!"

"What happened?" asked his friend. "My wife found out..."

Just think, if it weren't for marriage, men would go through life thinking they had no faults at all.

Look them up on youtube. I can not give you an answer on time, it is individual and relies heavily on your genetics and intensity that you exercise at.

Pull downs work about 60% latissimus dorsi (the flare) and 40% biceps. This can vary based on your grip on the bar. Also, never do them behind the neck, this is horrible on your rotator cuffs and I still don't know why people do them.
